My name is Bernadette McCloskey and I am the programme manager for Digital Technology.

For the past two years I have been events co-ordinator at School Employer Connections, which has given me the chance to work with many dynamic companies and digital entrepreneurs showcasing cutting edge technology and expertise. This work has helped me identify the vast amount of opportunities available in the digital technology sector across Northern Ireland.

ICT is one of the most significant - and growing sectors of the Northern Ireland economy. Over the past ten years the sector has continued to develop, based largely on availability of appropriately skilled people. Today the sector employs some 11,000 people and retains significant future growth potential.

I look forward to developing programmes to meet the needs of schools and employers to ensure students and teachers have access to the wealth of expertise and knowledge held by this sector.
