Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies

Financial Services

The Financial Skills Partnership (FSP) has created a large range of multi-media resources specifically for use by careers advisers. These include the following:

  • 24 videos providing real-life case studies about working in finance, accountancy and financial services in Northern Ireland
  • 20 qualification maps which show how to enter and progress a career in over twenty different careers options in Northern Ireland
  • 30 new job profiles which have been tailored and contextualised for careers in Northern Ireland

The FSP is the new name for the Financial Services Skills Council and promotes finance, accountancy and financial services as a career of first choice. 

Digital Technology

"Bringitonni" is an IT careers site designed by e-skills UK, a not-for-profit, employer-led organisation licensed by government as the Sector Skills Council for Business and Information Technology.  The site aims to show young people that technology forms a crucial element to their lives and that careers in IT can be both relevant and rewarding! Click here to visit the site.

Hospitality, Culture and Tourism

People 1st is the sector skills council for hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism in the UK.  Within the Northern Ireland page you will find useful factsheets on the sector.  There is also information for careers teachers on the NI Hospitality and Tourism Ambassador Programme. Click here to visit the page.

Creative & Cultural Skills is the Sector Skills Council for Craft, Cultural Heritage, Design, Literature, Music, Performing, and Visual Arts.  CCS has a careers microsite called “Creative Choices” which contains a wealth of information and resources on careers in this sector. Click here to visit the site.

Food and Drink Manufacturing Industry
