WHAT IS THE CLASS PROGRAMME?
The Class Programme is aimed at helping students with specific elements of their course and class work. The programme engages students with organisations for a short duration, unlike the Work Experience Programme. Students either visit the workplace or a representative from the organisation spends time in the classroom, informing students about elements of his/her work. The Programme Manager spends time working with the school and employer in the production of a project outline, this highlights what areas of work the students are interested in investigating with the help of the employer.
WHAT BENEFITS ARE THERE FOR EMPLOYERS?
By engaging with students in this way, employers share vital information that allows students to witness theory in action. This provides a better understanding of many subjects than can be gained in the classroom. Benefits for the employer are:
- Increased business profile
- Opportunity to engage and gain insight into the workforce of the future
- Opportunity for publicity as School Employer Connections publicises events in press
- Addresses Corporate Social Responsibility
- Opportunity to engage other members of staff in a role which promotes staff development and confidence
